Know what the calculation can and cannot do
Calculator Disclaimer
MarginBrace performs consistent math from the numbers you provide. It cannot determine whether those numbers are complete or appropriate for a particular job.
Effective and last updated: August 7, 2026
A MarginBrace result is not a guaranteed quote, appraisal, bid, professional estimate, or promise of profit.
1. Input-dependent results
The calculator applies its displayed pricing formula to your inputs. Incorrect, outdated, rounded, incomplete, or unrealistic inputs will produce an unreliable result. MarginBrace does not independently verify labor hours, wage burden, vendor prices, overhead, payment fees, tax rates, or margin assumptions.
2. Costs the calculator may not capture
Depending on the job, relevant costs may include permits, inspection fees, travel, disposal, financing, callbacks, warranties, insurance, bonding, licensing, payroll taxes, employee benefits, price changes, weather delays, site conditions, change orders, collections, and other risks. You are responsible for deciding which costs apply.
3. Taxes
The optional sales-tax field is arithmetic only. MarginBrace does not determine whether a transaction is taxable, which items are taxable, where tax must be collected, or the correct rate. Verify tax treatment with the relevant tax authority or a qualified professional.
4. Margin is not take-home pay
Estimated gross profit or gross margin is not the same as net income, cash flow, taxable income, or personal take-home pay. Costs outside the job calculation and later events can reduce or eliminate profit.
5. Your final review
Before presenting a price or signing a contract, review the scope, measurements, quantities, exclusions, schedule, payment terms, customer requirements, local laws, licensing rules, and insurance obligations. Use qualified accounting, tax, legal, engineering, or estimating help when appropriate.
6. No guarantee
MarginBrace does not guarantee that a customer will accept a price, that a job will be profitable, or that a result will satisfy any legal, contractual, trade, lender, insurer, or industry requirement.
